Architecture and project setup

# Understand the architecture

10 min

A Laioutr storefront is a Nuxt application whose pages are configured in Studio and rolled out through Cockpit. This lesson shows the building blocks: organisation, project and environments, apps as the connection to backends, Orchestr as the data layer and the Delivery, Management and Assets API. This overview helps with every later decision.

## Key takeaways

- Every project is a Nuxt application.
- Orchestr unifies the data of all backends.
- Three APIs open up content, management and assets.

Studio defines how a page is built, and Orchestr fetches the data for it on the server from connected systems such as shop, CMS or ERP and combines it into one unified data model.
- [Laioutr at a glance: organisation, project, environments](https://academy.laioutr.com/en/artikel/laioutr-at-a-glance-organisation-project-environments)4 min

The organisation is the company account with members, roles and billing, a project is one storefront or website inside it, and environments are independent copies of a project, starting with the live environment main.
- [Delivery API, Management API and Assets API](https://academy.laioutr.com/en/artikel/delivery-management-and-assets-api)8 min

The Delivery API serves published Laioutr content to frontends and other channels, the Management API creates and changes content and assets programmatically. The assets part runs through the storefront's /api/public/media/\* routes and is authorised with a project-bound restricted key.
