# Working safely with agents

Agents work through Laioutr MCP in the same Studio document as the team, with the rights of the signed-in account. Work stays safe with small, clear requests, a review in Studio and the rule that a person always publishes.

### Prerequisites

- Laioutr MCP connected

Last reviewed on October 15, 2026

An agent connected through **Laioutr MCP** writes to the same shared document that Studio uses. There is no generated file to import and no separate patch. Anyone with Studio open at the same time sees the agent as a participant and each of its changes immediately.

Three limits are built in:

- The agent acts with the rights of the signed-in account and cannot see projects that account cannot access.
- Laioutr MCP cannot publish. Publishing remains a human action in Studio, and the live page does not change until then.
- The agent does not create pages or variants, does not create or detach global sections and does not write values bound to a query.

So the Laioutr principle applies to agents as well: agents edit, propose and optimise, and a person decides and publishes. The working rules below make this control easy in daily work.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Read first, then write

Ask the agent to inspect current values and schemas before it changes anything.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Keep requests focused

Phrase one request per change so the result can be reviewed in context.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Confirm deletions

Explicitly confirm the request before the agent deletes sections or blocks.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Review in Studio

Look at every change in Studio in all languages and on desktop and mobile.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Publish after review

Publish with **Publish** only after the review in Studio.

## Frequently asked questions

Can an agent publish?

No. Laioutr MCP cannot publish. The agent's changes stay in the draft until a person clicks **Publish** in Studio.

Can the team see what the agent is changing?

Yes. The agent works in the shared Studio document. An open Studio lists it as a participant and shows its changes live.

What rights does an agent have?

Exactly the rights of the account used to sign in the connection. Use an account with a suitable role for agents, not an admin account by default.

What if an agent changes something wrong?

The live page is not affected as long as nobody publishes. Correct the change in Studio or ask the agent to restore the values it read before.

Studio saves changes as a draft and shows them instantly in the live preview. Publish in the top bar takes the saved state to the storefront through a deployment of the environment.
