# Using Larry Co-Pilot in Studio

Larry Co-Pilot is the AI assistant in Studio. The Larry button next to Publish has Larry build new sections, page layouts and revised copy as drafts; nothing goes live until a person publishes it.

**Larry Co-Pilot** is the Laioutr AI assistant built into Studio. The **Larry** button next to **Publish** opens the Co-Pilot panel on the right. Larry knows the context: the open page, the selected section and the active language.

Quick actions let the team have Larry build a new section, rebuild the selected section, create a layout for the current page or revise copy. For a new section, Larry starts a developer agent that works in visible steps: building from UI kit primitives, writing the schema to the Laioutr standard, checking lint and types, and returning the result as a draft.

Generated sections appear in the section picker under **From Larry**, separate from the library. A developer moves them into the project catalogue when needed. For build tasks, Larry uses the organisation's own AI key and shows a cost estimate before every run. Nothing from Larry goes live until a person publishes it.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Open Larry

Open the page in Studio and click **Larry** next to **Publish** at the top. The Co-Pilot panel opens on the right with page, section and language as context.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Check the key

If Larry is greyed out, the organisation has no AI key yet. A person with admin rights stores the provider and key in the organisation settings.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Pick a quick action

Choose a quick action such as **New section**, **Rebuild this section**, **Layout for this page** or **Revise copy**, and describe the goal in plain words.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Start the run

Check the cost estimate and start the run. The panel shows every step, from starting the developer agent to checking the schema.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Review the draft

The draft appears on the page and in the section picker under **From Larry**. Check it in the desktop and mobile preview and review the copy in every language.
6. 6 ### Step 6: Keep or discard

Keep drafts that fit and publish them with **Publish**; discard the rest. If a section should become part of the project catalogue, a developer adopts it.

## Check the result

The new section is listed in the section picker under **From Larry**, not in the Laioutr UI library. It only appears on the live page after a person has clicked **Publish**.

## Frequently asked questions

Why is the Larry button greyed out?

The organisation has not stored an AI key yet. Larry stays visible but disabled and points to the setting where an admin enters the provider and key.

Can Larry build a whole new page?

Yes. In the **New page** dialog, the option **Let Larry Co-Pilot build it** passes name, page type and description to Larry. The result returns to the dialog as a **From Larry** layout that can be selected there.

Who pays for the AI usage?

Build tasks run on the organisation's own AI key and are billed directly by the model provider. Larry shows a cost estimate before every run.

Does Larry publish changes on its own?

No. Larry delivers drafts. Publishing is always done by a person in Studio.

AI functions are AI actions on text fields, media fields and sections in Studio, available in the canvas and in the properties panel. They suggest copy, translate into the project languages or write alt text, and every result can be undone.

Sections are the large areas of a page in header, body or footer, and blocks are content units inside a section's slots. Both are added and arranged in the layers tree and edited in the properties panel.
