Translatr translates your project's content into the languages your project serves: your shop's data, such as products, collections, pages, menus, filters and policies, your Studio pages and global sections, and your CMS collections.

The page opens with the connection and the statistics. For French, it shows how many items have a translation, made by Translatr or already in your shop or Studio, and how much of the monthly quota is used. Translate beside a language translates just that language. Until your content is brought in, it says how much is still coming.

Under Languages, you choose what your content is written in and what it is translated into, here from English into French. The page proposes your shop's own language as the source and tells you when the two differ.

Under Translation mode, you choose how your texts are translated. Standard LLM gives high-quality translation and is the default. Adaptive LLM adapts to your own translations and brand terms and uses your monthly quota about three times faster. The page shows how much of the quota is used and how many characters are left in each mode.

A new language is added under Settings, Translations. Your shop has to serve it too, so that it can take the translations.

Bringing in copies the texts of your shop and Studio into Translatr, kind by kind. The page shows what is already in, what it is storing now and when the next automatic check runs. Bring in shop and Studio data starts it at once. The page says when the next step runs. It goes on by itself every five minutes, so you can close the page. Nothing is translated and nothing is written to your shop.

Settings per kind of content decide for each kind whether it is translated by itself or only when you press, how often it is checked for changes, and whether its translations are written to the shop by themselves or wait for you. A kind you do not need is left out: set to not translated, it is neither checked nor translated.

Translate shows what waits before anything happens, kind by kind in each language with its characters, and how much of your monthly quota is left. When the whole will not fit, Update only what changed translates just the texts whose original changed. Nothing is translated until you confirm. After the first confirmation, the schedule keeps every language up to date by itself until the monthly quota is used up.

In the editor, the original and its translations stand side by side, for Studio pages and sections and for every kind of shop data. Change a translation by hand or ask for a suggestion. Translate with AI fills in what is missing in your chosen mode. Save writes it straight into your shop.

Write to shop and Studio also shows first what it will write per kind and language. Studio texts go in through Studio's own import, and CMS translations go into drafts. Translatr never publishes them.

Under Kept as written, you list brand names, product names and codes that stay exactly as written in every language. Replacements fix a word everywhere at once, in the translations only. Your originals are never changed.

The log lists everything Translatr did and could not do: what was brought in, translated and written, and every text it did not translate, with the reason.

When something disappears from your shop or Studio, it is listed here. Its translations stay until you confirm that they are removed. If it comes back, its translations are back too.

Translatr keeps every language of your store up to date, and every press shows you what it will do first.

**Translatr** is a translation service in Cockpit that runs per project. Studio, product data from Orchestr and Distributr call it to bring texts into one or more target languages. Machine translation is based on Google Cloud Translation.

- **Translation memory**: identical segments are translated once and counted once.
- **Glossary**: brand names and terms stay unchanged or always translate the same way.
- **Manual override**: any machine translation can be overwritten and is then protected from being overwritten again.

Languages, fallbacks and JSON export and import remain platform features under **Translations**. Translatr adds automatic translation.

The organisation buys the licence and assigns it to a project with a Laioutr licence. Sizes S, M and L differ in monthly translation volume and number of target languages; Custom covers more. Volume is counted per target language, and segments from the translation memory do not count. A Starter allows testing before buying.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Assign the licence

Buy the Translatr licence for the organisation and assign it to the project in Cockpit.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Maintain the glossary

Add brand names, product lines and fixed terms to the project glossary before the first translation runs.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Start translating

Start translation where the content lives: in Studio for pages, for product data or through the language of a Distributr feed.

## Frequently asked questions

Does Translatr replace exporting and importing translations?

No. JSON export and import remain available under Translations, for example for external translators. Translatr translates automatically and works with the same languages.

Is a text translated into five languages counted five times?

Yes. Volume is counted per target language. Anything already in the translation memory is not counted again.

Are manual corrections lost on the next translation?

No. Manually edited translations are protected and are not overwritten by later automatic runs.

Under Translations, Export downloads all translatable content of a project as a JSON file; Import applies the edited file and reports how many values were applied or skipped.
