# Sign up and create an organisation

A personal account is created at cockpit.laioutr.cloud; the same flow creates the organisation and runs a short onboarding with questions about the company and its industry.

### Prerequisites

- Business email address
- Company name and details

Last reviewed on October 15, 2026

Getting started with Laioutr begins with a personal account in Cockpit. During sign-up, Cockpit asks for the organisation details. The organisation represents the company or team and is the frame for all users, projects and settings.

The onboarding includes a few questions, for example about the industry and the planned project. The answers help prepare a suitable start, such as a Blueprint for the chosen industry.

No plan is needed to sign up. Projects without an assigned licence run on Starter. A plan is only needed once a project goes live on its own domain. After sign-up, the next steps are the first project and inviting the team.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Open Cockpit

Open `cockpit.laioutr.cloud` in the browser and choose to sign up.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Create the personal account

Enter name, email address and password and submit the sign-up. The account belongs to the person, not to the company.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Create the organisation

In the next step, enter the company name and the other organisation details. These can be changed later under **Settings** in the **General** tab.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Answer the onboarding questions

Answer the questions about industry, plans and company. The industry decides which starting points Cockpit suggests next.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Arrive in Cockpit

After completion, Cockpit opens the new organisation. From here, create the first project and invite the team under **Members**.

## Check the result

In the organisation settings, the **General** tab shows the name of the new organisation, and the **Projects** tab is empty and offers **Create project**.

## Frequently asked questions

Does sign-up require a plan?

No. Projects without an assigned licence run on Starter. A plan is needed once a project goes live on its own domain.

Can one account belong to several organisations?

Yes. A personal account can be a member of any number of organisations, for example the employer and a partner.

What are the onboarding answers used for?

Laioutr uses the answers to prepare a start that fits the industry and to offer targeted support where needed.
