# Manage the organisation plan and billing

Plan and billing live in the Billing tab of the organisation settings. Cockpit shows the active subscription with its next billing date there and opens the Stripe customer portal through Manage billing for payment methods, invoices and plan changes.

In Laioutr, the organisation is the billing account. Plans, licences, add-ons and group products are booked on the organisation and billed through Stripe. The **Billing** tab in the organisation settings gives the overview.

- **Billing profile**: the organisation's customer data and access to the Stripe customer portal through **Manage billing**. Payment methods, billing address and invoices are maintained in the portal.
- **Active subscription**: product, status and next billing date, plus **Change plan** and, where the plan allows it, **Cancel subscription**.
- **Plan selection**: without an active subscription, the tab shows a pricing table or a contact prompt for an individual offer.

Only members with the **Billing** permission can open the tab. Which features a plan unlocks in a project depends on the licence assigned to that project. Hosting on Laioutr Cloud is never part of a plan and is booked as a separate package.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Open the settings

   Select the organisation in Cockpit and open its settings.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Open the Billing tab

   Open the **Billing** tab. If it is greyed out, the Billing permission is missing; an admin grants it under **Roles**.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Check the subscription

   Check product, status and next billing date on the active subscription card.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Maintain payment details

   Select **Manage billing**. In the Stripe customer portal, change payment methods and billing address or download invoices as PDF.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Change or cancel the plan

   Select **Change plan** and confirm the new plan in the portal. Cancelling runs through **Cancel subscription** where the plan allows it.

## Check the result

After returning from the Stripe portal, the subscription card in the Billing tab shows the new plan, its status and the updated next billing date. Invoices are available for download in the portal.

## Frequently asked questions

Why is the Billing tab greyed out?

The account lacks the Billing permission. An organisation admin adds it to the appropriate role.

Where are the invoices?

All invoices are in the Stripe customer portal, which opens through Manage billing.

Is hosting included in the plan?

No. Laioutr Cloud is booked as a separate package. Alternatively, the storefront runs on the customer's own infrastructure.

What applies to projects without a licence?

Projects without an assigned licence run on Starter, the free entry level with a Laioutr subdomain.
