# Manage content in Content Collections

Content Collections are the place for structured content such as blog posts, recipes or authors in Cockpit. Under Content › Collections, entries are created, maintained per language, linked and published without a deployment.

### Prerequisites

- Content is enabled for the organisation (Laioutr support)
- The storefront declares at least one content type

Last reviewed on October 15, 2026

**Content Collections** are a lean CMS right inside Cockpit. Each collection is a **content type**, for example Blog Post, Recipe or Author; each item in it is an **entry**. Content types are not created in Cockpit: developers declare them in the storefront configuration, or an installed app brings them along.

Entries have three statuses: **Draft** for work in progress, **Changed** for published entries with unpublished edits and **Live** for published entries. Several people can edit the same entry at once, and changes are saved automatically.

With several languages the editor shows one tab per language. Empty fields show the value of the fallback language. Links to other entries, for example from an article to its author, live in the **Links** card. Publishing checks the entry against the storefront schema and makes it visible with the next page request, without a deployment.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Open a collection

Open **Content** › **Collections** in the project sidebar and click the row of the content type.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Create an entry

Choose **Add Entry** at the top right. The entry editor opens with the status Draft.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Fill fields per language

Select the language tab and fill in the fields. Required fields carry a red asterisk; images are chosen or uploaded directly in their field.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Link entries

In the **Links** card, pick linked entries with **Choose…** or the search field and adjust the order for lists.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Publish

Choose **Publish**, or **Publish Changes** for a changed entry. If validation reports blocking errors, fix the highlighted fields and publish again.
6. 6 ### Step 6: Several entries at once

Select entries with their checkboxes in the list and choose **Publish** or **Delete** in the bar. A dialog lists any entries that could not be changed, with the reason.

## Check the result

The entry shows the status **Live** in the list. The next request of the related storefront page shows the new content, without any deployment.

## Frequently asked questions

Why is nothing listed under Collections?

Content types come from the storefront configuration or from an installed app. A developer declares them and deploys the storefront; content also has to be enabled for the organisation.

What does the Not declared badge mean?

The deployed storefront no longer declares this type. Its entries stay reachable but can only be edited and published again once the storefront declares the type again.

Why can an entry not be published?

Usually required fields or required components are missing. The errors are shown on the form. Publish is also disabled until every change has reached the server.

Can several people work on one entry at the same time?

Yes. Everyone sees the others' changes live, and an indicator in the header shows the connection.
