# Give the customer service team access

The service team gets a role of its own with exactly the permissions it needs and is invited to the organisation with that role. Billing, API keys and deployments stay out of reach.

### Prerequisites

- List of people in the service team
- Agreement on which areas the team needs

Customer service often needs to look up what is on the storefront: which markets and domains are active, which redirects apply or which content is currently live. It does not need full rights for that.

The answer is a role of its own, such as *Customer service*, with only the permissions required. The team is invited with that role and sees every other area as disabled. If it should only see one shop, the role is limited to that project.

### Access by Laioutr support

Laioutr support is separate from the company's own service team. It joins a customer organisation only through a request with a reason, approved and recorded at Laioutr. The person then appears as a normal member under their own account, and an Owner can remove them at any time.

When someone leaves the service team, the member is removed and access ends immediately.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Clarify the need

Decide which areas the service team needs to see or change, for example markets or redirects, and which it does not.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Create the role

Under **Roles**, click **Create new role**, name it Customer service and select only the permissions required.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Invite the team

Under **Members**, click **Invite**, enter all team addresses at once and choose the Customer service role.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Limit to one project

If the team only looks after one shop, limit the role to that project in the member profile.
5. 5 ### Step 5: End access

When a person leaves, choose **Remove** in the row menu of the member list.

## Check the result

The team members appear with the Customer service role in the member list. After signing in, billing, API keys and other non-granted areas are disabled and name the missing permission.

## Frequently asked questions

Does customer service see billing?

Only if the role includes the billing permission. Without it, the tab stays disabled.

Can Laioutr support enter the organisation without consent?

Laioutr staff only join through an approved, recorded request. They appear visibly in the member list and can be removed by an Owner.

Can many people be invited at once?

Yes. The invite field accepts several addresses separated by comma or line break, up to the limit shown in Cockpit.

Roles decide what a member can see and do in Cockpit. Besides the built-in roles Owner, Developer, Project Manager and Content Manager, the organisation defines custom roles with selected permissions under Roles and assigns them when inviting.

A role can be granted on a single project or a single environment instead of the whole organisation. The member then sees and reaches only that project or environment: project list, environment switcher, Studio and deployments.

Cockpit records who did what and when: each environment's history shows creation, deployments, copies and migrations with person and time. The audit log in the Enterprise package also records every change across the organisation.

The report button in every project sends bugs, questions and ideas straight to Laioutr support, automatically linked to the organisation and project. Answers arrive in the report itself and can be followed on the Reports page.

Redirects are maintained per project environment under Redirects in Cockpit, one by one or by CSV import. Permanent rules answer with 301, temporary ones with 302, and they apply after the next deployment.
