# From sign-up to a live storefront without help

The self-service path runs in one line from sign-up through industry choice, shop connection, app selection and first deployment to choosing a plan and going live, without talking to Laioutr.

### Prerequisites

- Credentials for the shop system, for example an API token
- Logo and brand colours
- Access to the DNS of the custom domain

In Laioutr, a storefront comes into being without a project team or a meeting. The self-service path is a straight line: sign up, pick an industry, connect and test the commerce backend, choose apps, deploy on a trial environment, and finally choose a plan and go live.

Each step ends with a visible result: an organisation, a project with a Blueprint, a successful connection, the shop's products in Studio and a reachable storefront. This path needs no code repository of its own. A repository remains the option for larger setups with in-house development.

This lesson shows the flow as a whole. Each step has its own article with details; the go-live checklist summarises what to check before launch.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Sign up

Create an account at `cockpit.laioutr.cloud` and set up the organisation.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Pick an industry

Specify the industry during onboarding. Cockpit suggests a matching Blueprint as the starting point of the first project.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Connect the commerce backend

Install the app of the shop system under **Apps**, enter the credentials under **Configuration** and run **Test connection**.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Choose apps

Install further apps for search, tracking or consent and configure them the same way.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Check pages and deploy

Check and adjust the shop's products on the Blueprint pages in Studio, then **Publish**. Under **Deployments**, confirm the deployment succeeded and open the storefront through its address.
6. 6 ### Step 6: Choose a plan and go live

Choose a plan under **Billing** and assign it to the project. Then connect the custom domain in the market and work through the go-live checklist.

## Check the result

The custom domain shows the storefront with real products, and under **Deployments** the current deployment of the environment **main** has the status success.

## Frequently asked questions

Does this path need developers?

No. All steps run in Cockpit and Studio. Developers are only needed when custom sections or custom apps are built.

What if the shop system is not listed under Apps?

Laioutr connects 50+ backends. If a system is missing, the contact option on the Apps page helps; alternatively a custom app can be built.

What happens if the shop connection fails?

**Test connection** names the cause, for example missing values, refused credentials or no answer. Correct the values and test again before saving.

A deployment rebuilds the storefront of an environment and puts changes to apps, versions and configuration live. It is started in Cockpit under Deployments with Deploy; the status and build log show whether it worked.

Before going live, five areas are checked: account, project, markets and languages; the tested app connection; published pages including legal pages; SEO basics and redirects; and finally deployment, custom domain and removing password protection.
