# Find, install and configure apps

Apps are listed in the Cockpit catalogue under Apps, installed per environment and set up under Configuration. The storefront uses them from the next deployment onwards.

### Prerequisites

- Project with at least one environment
- Access to the admin of the system to connect
- Licence with the system vendor where required

Last reviewed on October 15, 2026

Every connection in Laioutr is an app: commerce platforms such as Shopify or Shopware, CMS such as Hygraph, plus search, tracking, consent and security. An app connects an external system to the frontend without tying the storefront to one vendor. Orchestr maps the data of all apps into one unified data model, which is why Sections and Blocks in Studio work regardless of the backend.

The catalogue sits in the project menu under **Apps**. Tabs such as **Ecommerce**, **Tracking**, **Performance** or **Search** group the cards. Each card shows name, short description and status; **Details** opens screenshots, documentation links and vendor information.

Apps are installed per environment: each environment carries its apps at its own versions, so stage can test a new app version while main stays unchanged. Laioutr charges nothing on top of the plan for listed integrations; licence fees with the vendor still apply.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Open the catalogue

Open the project in Cockpit and select **Apps** in the sidebar.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Review the app

Open the matching tab, for example **Ecommerce**, and use **Details** to review description, documentation and vendor.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Install the app

Click **Install** on the card. Alternatively, in the environment **Settings** under **Package Management**, use **Add an app** to search for it, pick a version and confirm with **Save**.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Enter the settings

Unfold **Configuration** in the environment menu and open the app. An orange dot marks missing required settings.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Test and save

Check the values with **Test connection**, then select **Save settings**.
6. 6 ### Step 6: Deploy the environment

Start **Deploy** on the environment card. Only the new build installs the app and applies the settings.

## Check the result

The catalogue card shows **Installed**, every section of the app under Configuration reads **Complete**, and after the deployment the Studio preview shows data from the connected system.

## Frequently asked questions

Does an app cost extra?

Laioutr charges nothing on top of the plan for listed integrations. Licence fees with the system vendor still apply.

Why can an app not be installed?

When an app is not generally available, the card shows a status badge and **Install** is disabled. The **Private** badge means access is restricted.

Does a new app take effect on the storefront right away?

No. Installation and settings apply from the next deployment of the environment. The running storefront stays unchanged until then.

What if an integration is missing?

**Contact us** at the bottom of the catalogue leads to support. Development teams can also build and release their own apps.

Essentials apps are apps provided by Laioutr itself that bring core functions such as SEO, transactional email or legal building blocks. A project installs them in Cockpit as needed instead of hard-wiring these functions into the frontend.
