# Checkoutr: set up the shop checkout with Mollie

Checkoutr is the headless checkout of the Laioutr group: cart, guest checkout and payment through Mollie, designed in Studio. Orders land in an order API from which ERP systems pick them up.

### Prerequisites

- Mollie account with enabled payment methods
- ERP or inventory system that fetches orders through an API

Last reviewed on October 15, 2026

**Checkoutr** is a dedicated checkout for Laioutr storefronts, decoupled from the backend. It covers the path from the **cart** to the order confirmation and is designed in Studio like any other page. The team changes layout, order and texts without touching code.

Payments run through **Mollie**, the preset payment provider of Checkoutr. The connected Mollie account controls which payment methods appear, such as cards, wallets or local methods. Customers can buy without an account through **guest checkout**.

Every order lands in the Checkoutr **order API**, where ERP and inventory systems pick it up. Business logic stays in the backend while Checkoutr provides the interface.

Checkoutr is a Laioutr group product with its own product licence and belongs to the Commerce line, because transactions live there. The licence is bought at the organisation and assigned to a project.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Assign the licence

In Cockpit, buy a Checkoutr licence at the organisation and assign it to the Commerce project.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Connect Mollie

Install the Mollie app under **Apps** in the project, connect the Mollie account in **Configuration** and work in test mode first.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Enable payment methods

Enable the desired payment methods in the Mollie dashboard. Checkoutr shows them according to country and currency.
4. 4 ### Step 4: Design the checkout

Open the checkout page in Studio and arrange and adjust the sections for address, shipping, payment and summary.
5. 5 ### Step 5: Turn on guest checkout

Decide whether orders without a customer account are allowed.
6. 6 ### Step 6: Connect the ERP

Set up the order API in the ERP or inventory system so that orders are fetched automatically.
7. 7 ### Step 7: Test and go live

Run a test order with a Mollie test payment, then save the live Mollie connection in the production environment, deploy and publish the checkout in Studio.

## Check the result

Complete a test order: the payment appears in the Mollie dashboard as a test payment, the confirmation page is shown and the order shows up in the ERP.

## Frequently asked questions

Does the shop backend have to provide the checkout?

No. Checkoutr is decoupled from the backend. Orders go to the ERP or inventory system through the order API.

Which payment methods are possible?

All methods enabled in the connected Mollie account. Checkoutr shows them according to country and currency. Mollie is preset, and further payment providers can be connected.

Is Checkoutr available for sites without a shop?

The full checkout belongs to the Commerce line. For Sites there are payment links, for example for deposits or vouchers.

The cart opens as a side panel (Cart Sheet) with line items, a coupon field, progress towards free delivery and totals; there is also a separate cart page. Prices, discounts, shipping costs and the path to checkout come from the commerce backend.

The organisation buys licences and assigns them to individual projects in Cockpit, much like seats in a team tool. Only the assignment unlocks the plan's features in the project; projects without a licence run on Starter.

Sections are the large areas of a page in header, body or footer, and blocks are content units inside a section's slots. Both are added and arranged in the layers tree and edited in the properties panel.
