# B2B in the storefront: company accounts, approvals, quotes and more

Laioutr provides B2B features as Laioutr UI components on top of a unified B2B data model in Orchestr: company accounts with employees and roles, order approvals, quotes, budgets and cost centres, lists, sales rep tools, quick order and downloads. The data comes from a B2B-capable backend connected as an app.

### Prerequisites

- B2B-capable commerce backend, for example Shopware with B2B Sellers
- Installed and configured backend app
- Test company account with at least two employees in different roles

In B2B, the buyer is not a single person but a company: several employees with different permissions, budgets and approvals. Laioutr maps these processes in the storefront, regardless of which backend holds the data.

The foundation is the canonical B2B data model in **Orchestr**. It describes organisations, employees, roles, addresses, cost centres, budgets, customer product numbers, quotes, approval flows and shared carts in one consistent way. An app such as B2B Sellers for Shopware translates the backend data into this model. The B2B components of **Laioutr UI** build on it and are available in Studio as Sections and Blocks.

### Feature areas

- **Company accounts and employees:** invite employees, assign roles, switch between organisations.
- **Order approvals:** submit a cart for approval, approve or decline it.
- **Quotes:** request a quote, ask for changes, accept and order.
- **Budgets and cost centres:** limit and allocate spending per period.
- **Lists and reordering:** shared order lists for recurring purchases.
- **Sales reps:** customer overview and orders on behalf of a customer.
- **Quick order, product details and downloads:** search by product number or customer product number, B2B blocks on the product detail page, documents to download.

Which areas are active depends on what the connected backend supports.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Connect the B2B backend

Install the matching app under **Apps** in the project menu, for example B2B Sellers for Shopware. Then enter the credentials under **Configuration** for the environment.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Place B2B Sections

In Studio, add the B2B Sections to the customer account pages, for example for employees, approvals, quotes or budgets.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Test with a test account

Log in with a test company account and walk through the flows in different roles, for example submit an order and confirm it as the approver.

## Frequently asked questions

Which backends support the B2B features?

Any backend for which an app translates the B2B data into the canonical Orchestr model. For Shopware, the B2B Sellers app does this. Other B2B backends are connected as apps as well.

Does the backend have to cover every area?

No. Each area works as soon as the backend provides the matching data and actions. If a budget module is missing, for example, approvals, quotes and lists still work.

Can sales reps order on behalf of a customer?

Yes, if the backend provides this function. The sales rep tools show the assigned customers with their order history and allow orders on behalf of a customer.

How does this differ from the B2B Growth Kit?

This article describes the individual B2B features. The B2B Growth Kit bundles them with page templates into a package that makes a storefront B2B-ready from the start.

Sections are the large areas of a page in header, body or footer, and blocks are content units inside a section's slots. Both are added and arranged in the layers tree and edited in the properties panel.

Apps are listed in the Cockpit catalogue under Apps, installed per environment and set up under Configuration. The storefront uses them from the next deployment onwards.
