# AI in content management

AI supports content work in Laioutr: AI functions in Studio suggest and translate copy, and an assistant connected through Laioutr MCP creates and fills entries in content collections. Publishing is always done by a person.

### Prerequisites

- Content collections enabled for the organisation
- For assistants: Laioutr MCP connected

Content in Laioutr lives in two places: on pages in Studio and as structured entries in **content collections**, such as blog posts, recipes or author profiles. AI helps in both.

- **In Studio:** AI functions on a field suggest copy, adjust the tone and translate into the project languages. Larry Co-Pilot revises the copy of a whole page.
- **In content collections:** an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, connected through Laioutr MCP, reads the collections and their schema, creates entries, fills fields per language and links entries to each other.

An example: the editorial team asks the assistant to turn five bullet points into three blog posts in German and English and link them to the right author. The entries appear in Cockpit with the status **Draft**. The team reviews them in the form and in the content preview and publishes them itself.

AI follows the same rules as people: the storefront schema checks required fields and validation before an entry can go live.

## Step by step

1. 1 ### Step 1: Connect an assistant

Connect Laioutr MCP to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and sign in with the account that has access to the project.
2. 2 ### Step 2: Have entries created

Tell the assistant the collection, the languages and the content. It reads the schema, creates the entries and fills the fields per language.
3. 3 ### Step 3: Review and publish

Open the entries with the status **Draft** under **Content** in Cockpit, check them in the content preview and publish them with **Publish**.

## Frequently asked questions

Can an assistant publish entries itself?

Laioutr is set up so that a person publishes. The assistant creates and edits entries as drafts; the editorial team reviews them and clicks **Publish** itself.

What happens if the AI leaves a required field empty?

Publishing checks every entry against the storefront schema. Blocking errors prevent publishing and are shown on the field.

Can the AI create new content types?

No. Content types are declared by a developer in the storefront configuration or come with an app. AI works with entries of existing types.

Content Collections are the place for structured content such as blog posts, recipes or authors in Cockpit. Under Content › Collections, entries are created, maintained per language, linked and published without a deployment.

Laioutr MCP connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP client to Laioutr projects via OAuth. Once Laioutr has enabled it, signing in with the Laioutr account is enough; no API key is needed.
- [Using AI functions on fields and sections](https://academy.laioutr.com/en/artikel/using-ai-functions-on-fields-and-sections)5 min

AI functions are AI actions on text fields, media fields and sections in Studio, available in the canvas and in the properties panel. They suggest copy, translate into the project languages or write alt text, and every result can be undone.

With the project's content preview token, the real storefront shows unpublished content instead of published content. The token is used by the open preview link in project settings, the Studio command Show preview content or the URL parameter preview\_token.

Agents work through Laioutr MCP in the same Studio document as the team, with the rights of the signed-in account. Work stays safe with small, clear requests, a review in Studio and the rule that a person always publishes.
